Facebook Changes Default Privacy Settings

22 December 2009 No Comment

OK! Not sure how much you are concern about it, and how much data you have uploaded there. I am talking about your data on facebook. I hope you have already gone seriously through the default privacy settings and selected only those options if data which you really want to expose to world. I know you call it privacy, security and blah! blah!! I am also sure that very very few of us go and recheck those default privacy settings once we open the account. This is not only applicable to only facebook but to any other social site. Here is something you need to worry about.

Facebook has changed its default settings of privacy, which makes some information like family, relationship, education and post available to public. I am sure a grumpy developer like me will not like to expose my highly respectable post details all though I am proud of it.  Getting to serious business. It is time to go back and check your default privacy settings and set them explicitly. There is some legal friction between Electronic privacy groups and Facebook. But for now you hide your data on your own. Also I would make this habit to go to such sites periodically and check the privacy settings until we get some good guidelines for such changes which expose your data unknowingly.
