Chalkewadi Satara

6 April 2009 2 Comments

Just 2 km ahead of Thoseghar, i.e. 24 km from Satara, you can see many windmills running on a hill. This is new construction of many windmills to utilize the renewable energy from wind. There is always strong breeze coming on the top of hill from the western sea. After facing acute electricity shortage, (mainly because the planners did not anticipate the industrial and urban growth to estimate the future need of electricity, also they could not fit in these basic things in their (personal) growth agenda). But now you can see something moving, and these hundreds of windmills running happily here. You can go on top of this hill and experience the force of wind and sound of windmills.

There is no such secured place where children can get shelter. It is open hill top with couple of small office buildings where one can find some shelter when it rains.
